The Montane Winter Spine Race 2024 enters day two.
Course records are broken, runners are taking on the elements
and independent battles are starting to form all the way up the Pennine Way.

As the Montane Winter Spine Sprint draws to a close,
the 268-mile Montane Winter Spine Race roars into life.
As expected, a collective group of the elites battle it out right from the start.
Who knows what will happen over the first night of racing? 

For those that are following for the first time,
all Montane Spine ultra marathon races follow the Pennine Way. 

The Sprint race is 46 miles and needs to be completed within 18 hours.

The Challenger South and the MRT Challenge South
cover a distance of 108 miles with a time of limit of 60 hours. 

The Challenger North is 160 miles with a cut off time of 108 hours.

The full Spine is 268 miles and with a 168 hour total time limit.
